Pale pink to dark heartwood, quickly darkening to reddish brown. Aboudikro, which mainly comes from the Ivory Coast, is generally darker than wood from other growing areas. Blocks with numerous bark galls, color defects or water cracks are not suitable for veneer production.

The heartwood is yellowish, irregularly veined with reddish veins, striped or spotted, and fades when exposed to light and air, but is nevertheless very decorative. Due to the small diameter, it is often flawed and has cracks in the heart, so it is only suitable for small furniture and inlaid furniture, and rarely for interior design.

White oak is universally applicable in all areas of the wood-using industry because it is very resistant to external influences. It is highly valued in the veneer and sawn timber sector due to its expressive structure. In the USA it is of great importance as barrel wood (whiskey).
